How: Enable store-level configuration that allows administrators to exclude specific file formats from being downloaded when users select the “Original” download option. For example, administrators should be able to exclude PSD files (or any other selected formats) while still allowing original PDFs and other approved file types to be downloaded. When “Original” is selected, excluded formats will automatically be omitted from the download package.
Why: High-resolution Photoshop (PSD) files are stored in the PIM system and can be very large in size. These original source files are not intended for store users. Instead, users should only have access to optimized or transformed versions of these assets. Restricting access to original PSD files prevents unintended distribution of production files and reduces download size.
For Who:
Store Admin Users: Need the ability to configure which file formats are excluded from original downloads.
Store Users: When selecting the “Original” download option, excluded file formats will not be included in the generated ZIP file.
Impact:
Prevents large, production-level source files from being downloaded.
Reduces overall download size and bandwidth usage.
Improves performance and user experience when downloading assets.
Protects sensitive working files while still providing access to approved formats.
