Who would benefit? |
The customers want to use this |
What impact would it make? |
Image formats that are used on the website can be uploaded to PIM as well. |
How should it work? |
It should work the same way as other image formats |
Why is it needed? |
When new image formats are widely used in the community it shouldn't be a hinder that Inriver can not handle it. |
Additional feedback, background or context:
Our customer want to use WebP and AVIF images on their website, therefor they tried to upload it to PIM too. This was not possible however.
Hi Anette,
Thanks for sending in this Product Idea and sorry for taking so long to investigate it!
I believe we can already support the .webp and .avif formats when uploading media assets. Maybe this has been changed since this product idea was added. When I'm testing to upload these file types via the normal "Upload media" feature, I'm able to do so without any issues:

Also tested with transforming a webp > avif image configuration and that works well as well.
Please let me know if I'm missing something and you are referring another scenario.
In the meantime I will set this product idea to "Already exists", and please provide me with some additional information if there is still some GAP that we are missing.
Thanks,
Karin Björnbäck
